Cope, Cope made of embroidered silk fabric with linen lining; the silk backing of the embroidery has crumbled and the embroidery is preserved thanks to a linen backing hidden beneath the silk. Embroidered decoration entirely covers the surface with a pattern of leafy tendrils and flowers roses, tulips, carnations. Silhouettes of birds — peacocks, parrots, turkeys, and others — adorn the branches. Edges trimmed with yellow silk braid; hood features preserved bows of pink silk ribbon. 18th century, Silesia. Liturgical vestment. Dimensions: length 139 cm, width 287 cm., A semicircular textile with an off-white background densely covered in an allover floral and foliate embroidery, showing a symmetrical swirling vine pattern with a few large stylized flowers and several smaller blossoms in pastel pink, pale blue, soft yellow, muted green, and touches of purple and gold; the vines and leaves are mainly green with accents of blue and purple, and there are a few bird motifs embroidered in green and yellow; the upper straight edge is finished with a narrow yellow border and a horizontal band of the same floral design, and three small ribbon bows in pale pink are attached near the top center; the overall surface shows delicate curving stems, scrolls, and clustered blooms forming a repeating decorative composition.
