Fragment of a ply of fabric with a net composition, 16th century, Italy. In the reserves created from interwoven ribbons are the coats of arms: Jagiellonian Eagle and bouquets of flowers in vases. The fabric is sewn from several smaller fragments. Predominant colors: carmine red, yellow, and white; the background was originally ochre . Brocades; flowers; flowers in vases; patterned fabric with preserved report, preserved width of the ply, and preserved selvedge. Height 234 cm, width 56 cm., A long narrow textile panel with a worn patterned surface showing a repeating ornamental motif, predominantly maroon and golden yellow with traces of green along the narrow edges; the fabric appears aged and frayed in places with areas where the golden yellow threads are more exposed and raised, creating irregular textured patches; the pattern alternates between denser maroon ground and lighter golden designs that form central medallike shapes and surrounding floral or foliate impressions; the edges are uneven and show stitched or repaired seams and small folded hems; overall the textile hangs vertically against a neutral pale gray background.
