Fabric fragment, silk, patterned floral design. Main motif: wide, winding white satin ribbon with projections of flower sprigs with striped petals. Ribbon background shows alternating dark and light salmon-pink horizontal stripes; striped background includes small white flowers, larger flower sprigs, and regularly spaced vertical pink stripes. Construction: background satin with warp-covered fabric; ornament in plain weave. Colors: background in four shades of pink, transverse stripes of twill and pink satin, white satin ribbon along length. Warps in white and pink; wefts bound with a twill weave in three shades of salmon pink and white. Dimensions: fragment 18 x 17.5 cm; overall height 43 cm, width 22 cm. Date: second half of the 18th century. Probable origin: Sweden., A rectangular piece of frayed fabric with a striped woven texture in shades of pink and cream, showing a repeating floral and scalloped motif woven in a lighter cream against a darker pink background; the fabric has uneven torn edges and loose threads, a missing section near one edge, and a few small holes, all set against a dark background.
