Fragment of pale pink silk fabric brocaded with colorful threads and silver thread. Brocade threads: light green, pink, pale pink, light brown, white, blue, pale purple, cherry red, silver. The fabric is divided into horizontal silver stripes forming the basis for miniature landscapes placed alternately: a tuft from which a tree grows, smaller silhouettes of trees in the background, and a fragment of ruins overgrown with vegetation. These landscapes are separated by vertical stripes and floral bouquets woven from the background. The fabric background is a weave derived from linen a type of rep. 2nd half of the 18th century, France. Height 106 cm, width 23 cm., A long rectangular piece of fabric with a pale pink background shows a repeating floral motif connected by thin curving stems; the motifs include shades of olive green, mustard yellow, muted blue, and deep rose, with hints of beige and cream where the base shows through, and the fabric surface displays areas of wear and faint discoloration as well as loose threads and frayed edges, with one corner folded back revealing the patterned underside.
