Women's umbrella made of white lace. Its canopy is trimmed with cream silk at the bottom, which conceals the metal structure and, when unfolded, provides a backdrop for the lace covering. The bone handle is carved with floral motifs and folds in half. Circa 1850–1875, France. Length 66 cm; diameter 57 cm., An open lace parasol with delicate floral embroidery and a scalloped lace edging in shades of cream and off-white sits against a neutral gray background, showing a central finial topped with a small decorative element and a tied ribbon, and a handle partially visible with similar cream lace detailing.
