Women's umbrella made of white lace. Its canopy is trimmed with cream silk at the bottom, which conceals the metal structure and, when unfolded, provides a backdrop for the lace covering. The bone handle is carved with floral motifs and folds in half. c. 1850–1875, France. Length 66 cm, diameter 57 cm., A long slender object displayed vertically against a dark background with a carved pale ivory section featuring an intricate openwork floral and foliate design, a smooth pale handle area, and a textured metallic band near the top; a soft fabric bow in beige tones is tied around the carved section, and the overall color palette includes shades of pale ivory, beige, dark gray, and black.
