Wardrobe, Repossession provenance. Architectural elements. Biedermeier style. Plant decoration. Two-part wardrobe with straight sides and front, two storeys upper one low, narrower closed with double doors, supported by four block legs; birch veneered, inlaid, polished. Lower part framed in front corners with small columns missing, topped with a simple profiled cornice with cubes. Altarpiece features a triangular, flattened pediment. Door leaves have wide slatted doorstops, divided by a double black vein into rectangular fields with cubes in the corners filled with rosettes, and in the center with inscribed elongated dark hexagons decorated with a light, stylized floral ornament. Analogous decoration on the altarpiece pilasters. Structure, except for the framed back with two panels, is boarded. Base leaves reinforced on the inside with two tacks. Inside back contains a hanger with eight pins and a bar. Steel fittings: double-bolted applied locks; overlay bolts, pintle hinges. Circa 1830. Place of origin: Germany, Silesia . Furniture — storage furniture. Height 201.5 cm; width 117.6 cm; depth 60 cm., A large wooden wardrobe occupies the image, showing a tall rectangular structure with a smaller upper compartment; the wood has a warm yellowish-brown tone with visible grain and darker inlaid decorative accents. The piece features a central set of vertical doors with simple geometric inlay lines and ornamental dark keyhole escutcheons, flanked by two pilaster-like columns with lighter wood shafts and dark capitals and bases. The top section has a stepped cornice and a narrow row of small rectangular drawers, each with dark diamond-shaped escutcheons and darker carved or inlaid motifs at the corners and center. The wardrobe rests on a blocky base with short square feet and a contrasting darker trim along the bottom.
