Wardrobe Armoire, rococo ornament, rocaille ornament, plant decoration, rosettes, cuboid closed with double doors, richly carved, topped with a decorative board with an asymmetrical rococo cartouche framed with rocaille motifs. Supported by four low legs, front ones slightly flattened spheres, rear ones block form. Sides of the body and door leaf framed with three flat-carved panels with stylized plant motifs and rosettes on a star-shaped punch background. Frames symmetrically cut on the inside with a wavy profile. Board backs set in a rebate, fastened with dowels and nails; with saw marks. Interior: three narrowed middle shelves with wooden galleries, the fourth being the upper surface of the compartment containing two drawers at the bottom. Upper shelf rests on openwork consoles with rocaille motifs. Shelves connected to the sides with large-diameter pins ~15 mm. Steel fittings; eyelet hinges secondary; push-pull lock not preserved. Late 18th century, France. Furniture; storage furniture. Height 223.5 cm, width 120 cm, depth 63 cm., A carved wooden armoire with ornate raised panels and decorative relief work, standing on rounded feet; the wood shows warm brown tones with darker and lighter variations, and a glossy finish in places; the top features an elaborate carved crest with flowing shapes and scalloped edges in the same brown wood; the front has a pair of doors each with several framed carved panels showing intricate floral and scroll motifs; the sides also display carved panels with similar ornamentation; the background is a neutral light gray.
