Chair, Johann Kohn & Cie bentwood furniture factory, Radom; late 19th century?–1939. BENTWOOD CHAIR with an openwork backrest and a trapezoidal seat made of extruded plywood with rounded corners. Profiled, straight front legs, slightly diagonally inclined at the bottom; rear legs arch outward, merging into the sideways-flared backrest frames. Legs are joined at the top with a hoop repeating the outline of the seat. U-shaped connectors between the backrest frames and the seat frame. The backrest has two horizontal slats bent in the back line, the upper one wider, with three slats between them. Circa 1900–1914, Radom. Seating furniture; height 89.5 cm, width 39.5 cm, depth 49 cm., A wooden chair with a curved backrest and three vertical slats is shown against a pale gray background, the chair displaying a dark brown finish with lighter worn areas, a carved or embossed decorative pattern on the seat, gently tapered front and back legs, rounded supports connecting the legs, and a slightly curved seat edge, with visible wood grain and areas of age-related wear in shades of brown and hints of lighter tan.
