Hanging cabinet, ca. 1500, Germany Bavaria? Tyrol? — Gothic style. Wooden hanging cabinet with straight sides and front, topped by a prominent crenellated cornice; closed by a single door with a single narrow bottom shelf, carved in bas-relief. Lower-section sides extended with wavy ends. Door engraved with plant twigs at top and sides; door leaf and baseboard covered with sharply cut fish-bladder ornament and dry thistle ornament. Sides, front, and back composed of boards glued together and reinforced with dowels. Interior with one shelf. Steel fittings: push-lock without cup, braided hinges, and a club with ring mounted in the upper middle of the back. Furniture; storage cabinet. Height 65.3 cm, width 45 cm, depth 29.2 cm., A dark brown wooden cabinet with carved decorative panels stands against a light grey background, showing a rectangular top with carved border motifs, a front door with an openwork central panel featuring flowing interlaced carvings, carved side panels with similar scroll and foliate patterns, a metal escutcheon plate on the front, visible hinges, a scalloped lower apron, and short bracket feet; the wood displays lighter and darker brown tones and areas of wear.
