Sideboard, gift, architectural elements, plant decoration, two-part sideboard with chamfered and concave front corners, wavy front and straight sides, three-drawer base and top closed with double doors, supported on console legs; veneered with patterned walnut, inlaid with ribbon motifs, polished. The tops of the upper section are framed by richly profiled cornices, the upper one with a flat roof and a volute cornice with a central corbel. The top leaves have a wavy design creating a crossbow-like outline, as does the narrow cornice above them. The sides of both bodies, and the doors and drawer faces, are framed with a ribbon and cross-shaped frame. Three shelves not original are inside. Construction of both bodies, drawer faces, and door leaves is board-like; the back is framed with two panels; bases are board-like. Rims fastened to sides with wedges. Steel applied locks; single-bolt drawer locks; double-bolt door locks. Steel pintle hinges; single-bolt steel-brass latches. Brass pull-style drawer handles. Brass lock plates, openwork, asymmetrical with acanthus leaves and flowers. Ca. 1750, Gdansk; furniture, storage furniture. Height 250.5 cm, width 144 cm, depth 65 cm., A large wooden cabinet with a tall upper section and a lower chest of drawers, finished in rich brown tones with visible wood grain and darker brown veining, set against a neutral gray background. The upper section has two tall doors with a curved, ornate crown top featuring sweeping scroll shapes and a central carved crest, all in the same brown wood. The lower section has a serpentine front with three rows of drawers, each row having a few drawers across, and decorative metal handles and key escutcheons in a gold color. The cabinet rests on a molded base with a darker brown shadow beneath, and the overall piece shows polished highlights and subtle variations of brown on edges and raised moldings.
