Pipe stand, origin unknown, smoking, pipes, acorns, rack for pipes and billiard cubes. Skeletal structure composed of two pairs of spool-turned columns on angular plinths, mounted on a narrow rectangular platform supporting cuboid drawer bodies, connected mid-height and at the top by horizontally arranged slats with semicircular cutouts on the front. Platform rests on four turned legs with a high straight rim, with glued-on wavy-cut slats for holding billiard cues or long pipes, and a single groove at the back. Upper panel decorated with a gallery in the form of an arched crenellation reverse arcading topped with acorns. Bodies with drawers probably intended for balls are surrounded by a low slatted gallery. 1830–1840, Central Europe. Furniture/equipment.
