Chair, origin: Central Europe, ca. 1880. Neo-Rococo style with plant decoration and shell ornament. Rococo chair with wavy, carved, and gilded frame elements decorated with stylized acanthus leaves, palmette, and rocaille motif. Cabriole legs arching into the frame; legs terminate in volute feet. Trapezoidal seat upholstered on springs. Flat, disc-shaped backrest tilted outward with a clearance. Entire piece upholstered in beige silk grosgrain with floral bouquets. Seating piece; height 92 cm, width 56 cm, depth 55 cm., An upholstered chair with an ornate carved wooden frame finished in gold tones and brown, a patterned light beige fabric covering the backrest and seat with floral motifs in a slightly darker beige, curved legs with carved scroll and acanthus details in gold and brown, a padded seat with visible tufting and subtle wear, and a shaped backrest rimmed by the gilded carved frame.
