Stool, origin unknown, Empire style, rosette ornament. Rectangular stool with a black painted frame, upholstered, supported on the longer sides by crosses composed of two arched squares fastened in the middle and connected with a turned, simple link. At the intersection of the crosses are turned plaques with round fittings of embossed gilded brass sheet, with a central rosette and a tendril on the edge. Padded seat with high sides, upholstered with non-original green striped fabric alternating grosgrain and satin. c. 1810, Central Europe. Furniture, seating piece. Dimensions: height 40 cm, width 43.2 cm, depth 35.3 cm., An upside-down wooden stool or small chair with a cream or off-white painted frame showing scuffs and worn areas, a woven seat underside made of coarse brown fibers in a grid pattern, a central vertical support painted the same cream color, rounded legs with exposed worn ends, and a neutral light gray background.
