Scissor chair with footrest, seat, and backrest composed of five slatted elements; bas-relief and inlaid with bone with geometric and plant patterns. Supports connected to each other and to the seat with wooden pins enabling folding and unfolding, terminating at the bottom with decoratively carved runners. Backrest topped with a wide board with a wavy outline resembling a triangle. Slats decorated on front and sides with stylized plant patterns; backrest topped with symmetrical geometric decoration and a bas-relief Arabic verse. Pins topped with turned knobs. Mid-19th century 19th century, Syria place of origin, piece of furniture, seating piece; height 107 cm, width 46 cm, depth 47.5 cm., A tall carved wooden object with a dark brown finish featuring ornate repeating carved patterns and floral inlay accents in a lighter color, shown against a plain light background. The top has a scalloped decorative crest with circular cutouts and a central rosette-like motif in the lighter inlay, followed by a triangular pediment area with carved details and small inlaid floral shapes. Below this, vertical slatted elements with carved surfaces form a grid-like structure, each slat decorated with the lighter floral inlay and intricate carved motifs. Small turned peg-like elements project from the sides. The base has a curved carved horizontal rail with additional inlaid floral accents and scroll-like end pieces, all maintaining the dark brown carved wood appearance contrasted with the lighter inlay.
