SIDE TABLE with a round top with a wavy, profiled rim, supported by a shaft composed of three slender turned balusters fastened together and mounted on a carved tripod. Cabriole legs with feet in the form of a claw clasping a ball and strongly widened knees decorated with an acanthus leaf at the top, connected by a hexagonal cube with three concave sides. The balusters are fastened together midway by a shelf of analogous shape. Shaft balusters with angular cubes at the top and bottom and at the junction with the shelf. Animal paws; acanthus ornament. 2nd half of the 18th century, England. Furniture, table. Height 55.1 cm; diameter 44 cm., A round wooden table top with a scalloped edge is shown flipped upright, revealing a reddish-brown polished surface with darker wood grain. The underside of the table top displays a small square wooden bracket and a few rectangular lighter patches. A carved tripod base in glossy black supports the top, with three curved legs ending in rounded feet that have dark protective pads. The scene rests on a pale neutral background in shades of white and light gray. The visible colors include reddish-brown, dark brown, black, white, and light gray.
