Cabinet, Baroque period, 2nd quarter of the 17th century, Gdansk. A cuboid cabinet with a boarded body, fitted with steel decorative strips, closed with double doors. Framed doors with single panels in the form of convex coffers glued at the mitre from richly profiled strips. Steel closing strip with a wavy outline; rectangular and trefoil-shaped angular fittings on the edges of the body, punched, fastened with headers. Inside, sixteen drawers arranged in five rows: two in the top row, four in each of the two middle rows, and three in each of the bottom rows. Drawer faces are framed with profiled strips; the three drawers in the middle row feature numerous internal divisions. Walls connected with exposed diagonal dovetails; back joined to top and sides with dowels. Drawers have exposed diagonal dovetail joints and nailed bottoms. Side handles are oval; drawer handles are round with rosette-shaped plates. Hinges are steel, strap-type, with a wavy outline. Both door leaves have steel mortise-and-apply locks with an additional hasp and covered keys; the left door has self-locking latches. Furniture storage, height 45 cm, width 75 cm, depth 43.5 cm., A wooden chest with a rectangular shape and paneled front is shown, featuring rich brown wood tones and visible grain; the chest has dark metal hardware including ornate hinges, a decorative central metal latch, corner brackets, and a metal handle on one side; the wood shows areas of wear and darker stains, and the metal fittings are dark gray to black with a slightly rough texture; the background and surface beneath the chest are light gray.
