Armchair, Baroque;, circa 1640–1660, France. Upholstered seat and backrest with cherry plush covering the frame and backrest rails, finished with upholstery tape at the bottom of the backrest. Spirally turned frame elements and carved armrest supports; armrest supports low, in the form of female busts mounted on turned balusters. Wide rectangular seat and slightly reclined backrest with clearance and turned side rails in the lower part. Seat with secondary upholstery on springs. Legs end with glides-pads, joined by an H lacing at the bottom; front legs additionally fastened with a high link; joints of the footrest elements form ankles and the upper part of the front legs is elongated. Seating piece armchair. Dimensions: height 84.5 cm, width 61 cm, depth 51 cm., A wooden armchair with a fabric upholstered seat and back, featuring twisted turned legs and stretchers, carved arm supports, and a warm brown upholstery; the wood shows tones of medium to dark brown and the fabric appears rusty brown, all set against a pale gray background.
