Casket, Repossession provenance. Sleigh, deer, hunters, hounds, riders. Baroque style. Cuboid case inlaid with figural scenes, with openwork brass fittings. Front wall of the body depicts a deer hunt with dogs; lid shows, in an oval field, a sleigh drawn by a deer. Inside the body, under the chamber bottom, are three drawers middle one smaller accessible after folding down the front wall. Lid contains a compartment closed with a plate on brass hinges. Fittings cut from thick brass sheet placed on the lid edges and body corners. Bottom and back wall fastened with strap hinges with decorative openwork finials visible from the back of the lid and at the bottom of the front wall. Mortice-type lock with two catches mounted on the bottom of the lid. Date: 1720–1740. Place of origin: Germany. Furniture — storage furniture. Dimensions: height 21.6 cm; width 42.5 cm; depth 27.4 cm., A small rectangular wooden box sits on a neutral gray surface against a gray background, showing a front face with a hinged lid. The box features a warm brown and reddish wood grain with lighter burl wood panels, and brass corner mounts and decorative brass fittings in a darker golden brass tone. A brass ornamental handle with a circular ring is attached to the front center, mounted on an intricate brass backplate. The front panel displays a marquetry scene in varying shades of brown and yellowish-brown woods depicting a stylized reclining deer and a tree, with inlaid outlines and subtle darker engraved lines defining details. The lid edge and vertical sides have brass escutcheon-like accents, and the wood shows some fine cracks and small surface blemishes. The overall colors visible are brown, reddish-brown, yellowish-brown, golden brass, and gray.
