Casket, Repossession provenance. Sleigh, deer, hunters, hounds, riders. Baroque style. Cuboid case inlaid with figural scenes, with openwork brass fittings. Front wall of the body shows a deer hunt with dogs; lid has an oval field depicting a sleigh drawn by a deer. Inside the body, beneath the chamber floor, are three drawers middle smaller accessible after folding down the front wall. Lid contains a compartment closed with a plate on brass hinges. Fittings cut from thick brass sheet on the lid edges and body corners. Bottom and back wall fastened with strap hinges with decorative openwork finials visible from the back of the lid and at the bottom of the front wall. Mortice-type lock with two catches mounted on the bottom of the lid. Dated 1720–1740, Germany. Furniture — storage furniture. Dimensions: height 21.6 cm, width 42.5 cm, depth 27.4 cm., A rectangular wooden chest with warm brown and golden tones sits against a neutral background, its front decorated with marquetry showing a landscape scene with a few trees and a group of deer; the wood grain varies from reddish-brown to honey-gold, creating swirling patterns. Ornate brass fittings in a yellow-metal color run vertically and along the corners and edges, including decorative strap-like plates with heart-shaped cutouts and rounded rivets, and small hinged latches at the top. The top edge has a deeper reddish-brown band, and the base shows a slightly darker brown strip. The overall palette includes shades of brown, golden-yellow, brass, and subtle gray from the background.
