Casket, Repossession provenance. Sleigh, deer, hunters, hounds, riders. Baroque style. Cuboid case inlaid with figural scenes, with openwork brass fittings. Front wall of the body shows a deer hunt with dogs; lid has an oval field showing a sleigh drawn by a deer. Inside the body, under the chamber floor, are three drawers middle one smaller accessible after folding down the front wall. Lid contains a compartment closed with a plate on brass hinges. Fittings cut from thick brass sheet, placed on the edges of the lid and the corners of the body. Bottom and back wall fastened with strap hinges with decorative openwork finials visible from the back of the lid and at the bottom of the front wall. Mortice-type lock with two catches mounted on the bottom of the lid. Date: 1720–1740. Place of origin: Germany. Furniture; storage furniture. Dimensions: height 21.6 cm; width 42.5 cm; depth 27.4 cm., A rectangular wooden chest with a hinged lid sits on a neutral gray surface and background; the chest shows a rich brown and reddish-brown wood grain with lighter burl-like patterns and inlaid decorative scenes visible on the front and top. Ornate brass fittings decorate the chest, including corner plates, a central escutcheon with a keyhole plate, decorative mounts along the front and top edges, and looped handles on the sides, all in a gold-brass color. The wood panels display engraved or inlaid imagery of figures and trees in darker and lighter brown tones. The overall color palette includes warm browns, reddish-browns, lighter tan burl patterns, and gold-brass metal accents set against a cool gray backdrop.
