Bedside table with toilet, 4th quarter of the 18th century, England. Bedstand with toilet: tambour door in upper section and a pull-out section below with a circular opening and lid. Supported by four angular stand-up legs; front legs divided diagonally in half, the front half connected to the front wavy-cut board of the pull-out section at the bottom. Pull-out handle of gilded brass. Opening cover turned, recessed in the center, with a round handle. Front and side walls of the body have wavy-cut tops with oval openings as handles. A blind of two parts slides sideways, with small brass knobs. Function: piece of furniture for hygiene. Dimensions: height 82 cm, width 59.2 cm, depth 45 cm., A wooden piece of furniture with a warm brown finish standing on four straight legs, featuring a lower pull-out section with a scalloped apron and a brass handle, and an upper compartment with a pair of vertically ribbed panel doors set into a framed box with decorative cutouts along the top edges; the pull-out surface shows a recessed circular design with concentric rings, and the wood grain and joins are visible across the surfaces, with highlights and reflections that produce lighter brown and darker brown tones against a pale neutral background.
