Bidet, unknown origin, hygiene; cuboid mahogany bidet containing a plated container of the same shape, closed with a removable lid; with folding supports. Hinged supports placed on the shorter sides with an S-shaped outline, forming a rectangular plate when folded the wider support on the inside is cut in the form of a concave-convex arch, filled with a narrower one of the same outline. Frame cover with a single removable panel. Brass fittings: strip fittings in the corners of the body three each and the lid single; sapphire hinges; a latch locking the supports; folding, rotating locks for both supports; and a pair of flat locks for the rear support. Removable container with extendable handles made of thick wire on long sides. 18th/19th century, England; furniture — toilet equipment; height 52.2 cm, width 47.7 cm, depth 28.5 cm., A wooden rectangular box with a reddish-brown finish stands on a pair of matching reddish-brown legs, showing a few scratches and worn areas on its surface; the box has several brass corner brackets and strap-like decorative brass accents, a hinged lid with a recessed metal-lined interior, and a metal key inserted into a brass lock plate on one side, all set against a light gray background with a smooth floor.
