Nautilus Cup. Shell cup on a four-part, profiled foot that transitions into a knobbed foot decorated with flowers. The shaft is a figure of a man holding a halberd, standing on a decoration of volute silver ribbon; the motif is repeated at the base of the cup. Rim framed in silver and topped with a figure of a nude woman with her right hand raised, probably holding a missing element. Case included. Baroque style, masterpiece. 2nd half of the 17th century, Central Europe. Vessel. Height 37 cm; width 17 cm; depth 18 cm. Men; women; shell shape., A decorative object consisting of a large iridescent shell with pearly hues of pink, cream, and green mounted on an ornate metal stem; the shell is partially lined with a shiny golden rim and topped by a small golden human-like figure standing on a floral mount. The stem features a golden human-like figure holding a long staff and stands above a complex floral and scrollwork cluster in mixed metallic tones of gold and silver. The base is a rounded golden plinth with embossed floral motifs and a tiered profile, and the overall color palette includes gold, silver, pearly pink, cream, and pale green against a neutral gray background.
