Host ciborium, Copper ciborium, on a hexagonal foot, with a smooth shaft with two lacings in the form of a half-cylinder, with a hexagonal nodus. The body is a flattened sphere, the upper half serving as a cover. On the cover is a conical pinnacle, originally topped with a cross. In the arcades on the foot are depictions of the Flagellation, Carrying the Cross, Crucifixion, and Christ in Majesty. On the bowl are busts of angels in circular medallions; on the cover in trefoil arcades are four depictions possibly of jhakas. Champlevé enamel, brick red and dark blue. Late 14th century, Spain . Ritual object. Height 28 cm, diameter 16 cm., The image shows a close-up of a decorative metallic object with a hexagonal base and a stem attached to a shallow bowl-like section; the metal has a worn gold finish with areas of red and blue enamel inlaid into engraved patterns, and the surface displays scratches and tarnish.
