Pocket watch by Daniel Schepcke fl. 1765–1775. Gold case engraved with a bouquet of flowers and a butterfly, the bouquet surrounded by leaves and flowers. White enameled dial with black Roman and Arabic numerals, openwork hands, keyhole between III and IIII, signature on the dial. Dated 1770–1775. Timepiece, height 6.5 cm, width 4.3 cm. Origin: Warsaw, Poland. Subjects/ornament: flowers, bouquets, butterflies., A round pocket watch with a gold-toned metal case showing tarnish and wear sits against a flat gray background; the watch face is white with ornate gold-colored hands and a decorative winding loop at the top, and there are small dark spots and areas of discoloration on both the face and the metal rim, with visible black Roman numeral markers and a ring of smaller black minute markings.
