Mantel clock by Alexandre Pertrand fl. ca. 1840. Mantel clock in the form of a four-column portico on a cuboid base and counter-base; boxwood inlays on the front of the cornice and base with a rhombus rosette and a tendril on both stiles; gilded bronze bases and capitals. Suspended movement with a silver dial with Roman numerals and two keyholes hangs between the columns. Gilded bronze frame with shells surrounds the clock. Oak construction with rosewood facing and light wood insets. Ca. 1840, Paris, France. Timepiece. Height 47 cm, width 21 cm., A freestanding wooden structure with a rectangular top and base in dark brown wood with lighter brown trim, supported by a group of four tall fluted columns in dark brown with thin lighter streaks and gold-colored capitals and bases, an exposed circular brass mechanism suspended between the columns, and a dark brown plinth with a decorative floral inlay in lighter brown and gold tones, all set against a pale gray background.
