Mantel clock by Alexandre Pertrand fl. ca. 1840. Four-column portico form on a cuboid base and counter-base; boxwood inlays on the front of the cornice and base with a rhombus rosette and tendril on both stanchions; gilded bronze bases and capitals. Suspended movement with a silver dial with Roman numerals and two keyholes hanging between the columns. Gilded bronze frame with shells surrounds the clock. Oak construction with rosewood facing and light wood insets. Ca. 1840, Paris, France. Timepiece; height 47 cm, width 21 cm., A decorative wooden mantel clock with a rectangular base and top connected by four fluted columns, featuring a circular clock face framed by an ornate round gold-colored floral bezel; the wood shows dark brown and lighter brown tones with inlaid floral marquetry in a lighter wood color on the base and top, and gold-colored caps and square plinths at the column ends; the clock face is silver-gray with dark hands, set against a neutral pale gray background.
