Watch stand with watch, Königlich-Preussische Eisengiesserei in Berlin fl. 1804–1874, ironworks author or private foundries, watches, eagle iconographic, ca. 1830, Germany, Berlin, varia, height 31 cm, A slender dark metal sculpture stands upright on a tiered rectangular base, with a vertical shaft rising from the base to a thin upper section; a curved, cup-like element projects from one side of the shaft above a textured, elongated form that attaches to the shaft, and the surface shows areas of smoothness and rough, sculpted detail; the overall tones are shades of black and dark gray against a pale gray background, and a soft reflection of the base appears on the glossy surface below.
