Gate key, locksmithing. Key with a tubular shaft, separated from the semi-ovoidal node by a flat cylinder; handle made of three C-sections. The blade widens downward, with a rib, diagonal notches and two stars. 17th/18th century, possibly Austria. Height 19.8 cm, width 6.2 cm, depth 1.3 cm., A single metal key stands upright against a pale gray background, with a decorative, ornate handle shaped like a symmetrical three-lobed loop showing smooth curves and small rounded protrusions, a tapered cylindrical shaft with a subtle band near the top, and a rectangular bit at the bottom featuring cut-out geometric shapes and starburst-like perforations; the key shows a metallic silver-gray color with slightly darker, aged patina in places and a faint reflection visible on the smooth surface beneath it.
