Bowl, maker: William I Sumner fl. 1773–ca. 1807, goldsmith; circular, bulging vessel with flat bottom and flared upper edge; decorated on the belly with a wide band of relief ornament of acanthus leaves and flowers; materials: presumably metal; styles: Empire, Georgian, George III; ornament: acanthus leaves, acanthus ornament, relief decoration; date: 1804/1805; place: London, England, Great Britain; dimensions: height 8 cm, diameter 11.5 cm, weight 145 g; provenance unknown., A round metallic bowl viewed from above with a hammered and slightly uneven surface showing a weathered, matte silver color. The rim and upper sides feature a decorative band of small punched indentations forming a repeated pattern, also in silver. The interior center is flatter and shows areas of subtle scratches and scuffs in silver and gray tones. The overall background is a pale, neutral gray.
