Single-candle candlestick, neo-Baroque style, silver, 1884/1885, England, London, Great Britain. Supported on three shells and a three-sided raised base with side edges composed of volutes, richly decorated with floral tendril and plain medallions. Baluster shaft at the bottom enclosed in a godron half-cylinder, decorated with floral festoons above, topped with a plate-shaped profit with a cylindrical sleeve. Medallion, volutes, floral ornaments, godron ornaments, floral tendril. Height 24 cm, width 13.6 cm, depth 13.6 cm, weight 852 g. Makers: Martin Goldstein fl. 1878–1886 and Vander C.J., Ltd London; goldsmith's firm, 1856–. Function: lighting., A silver-colored ornate candlestick with a decorative top rim and a shallow dish beneath the holder, a baluster-shaped stem adorned with floral relief, and a heavily ornamented tripod base with scrolling patterns, leaf motifs, rounded medallion areas, and shell-like feet, all shown against a plain light-gray background.
