Single-candle candlestick by Martin Goldstein fl. 1878–1886 and the firm Vander, C.J., Ltd. London; goldsmith's firm, est. 1856. Neo-Baroque style, 1884/1885, England London, Great Britain. Silver; supported on three shells and a three-sided raised base with side edges composed of volutes, richly decorated with floral tendril and plain medallions. Baluster shaft at the bottom enclosed in a godron half-cylinder, decorated with floral festoons above, topped with a plate-shaped knop and a cylindrical sleeve. Ornament: medallion, volutes, floral ornaments, godron ornaments, floral tendril. Function: lighting. Height 24 cm; width 13.6 cm; depth 13.6 cm; weight 852 g., A top-down view of a metallic object with a central circular opening surrounded by a decorative rim featuring a ring of flower-like motifs, and three ornate curved arms extending outward; the surface shows embossed floral and leaf patterns and a polished reflective finish. The visible colors are silver and shades of gray against a light gray background.
