Openwork basket by Steinhart & Co Birmingham, London; goldsmith, merchant; active 1897–1930. Openwork silver rectangular basket with raised edge along the longer axis; edge bordered with pearling ribbon. Openwork forms a composition of elongated ovals and arcades; geometric ornaments and pearling. Dated 1910–1911, made in Birmingham, England. Vessel; height 7.3 cm, width 9.6 cm, depth 6.7 cm, weight 40 g., A metallic bowl with a decorative pierced pattern and a beaded rim sits centered against a plain light background; the bowl appears reflective and silver in color with cutout oval and teardrop shapes around its sides and a scalloped beaded edge, and the background is light gray to white.
