Openwork basket by Steinhart & Co Birmingham, London; goldsmith, merchant; fl. 1897–1930. Openwork silver basket, rectangular with raised edge on the longer axis; edge bordered with pearling ribbon. Openwork forms a composition of elongated ovals and arcades. Decorated with geometric ornaments and pearling. Dated 1910–1911, Birmingham, England. Vessel. Height 7.3 cm, width 9.6 cm, depth 6.7 cm, weight 40 g., A silver-toned decorative bowl with an openwork pattern and scalloped bead trim along the top edge, shown against a plain light gray background; the bowl has a curved, elongated shape with repeating arch and oval cutouts and a reflective metallic surface with highlights and subtle shadows.
