Pectoral watch, Stosch, Israel fl. 1st half of 17th century watchmaker, baroque, floral ornament, grotesques. Pectoral watch in an oval case, frame with a circular glazed cut-out, beneath which a dial with a silver ring with hour numerals. Frame decorated with an engraved tendril. Underside open-work, with a motif of a winged bust passing at the bottom into a tendril; around it is a tendril motif. Openwork sides of the case with a tendril motif. Mechanism with a striking device, signed I. STOSCH. 17th century, timepiece, height 5.3 cm, width 3.5 cm., A decorative round metal object seen from its side, showing an ornate hinged case with intricate raised floral and scrollwork patterns; the surface has a worn metallic gold color with darker recessed areas that appear brown or black; a clear domed glass element is visible along one edge, and a small ring and loop in matching gold protrude from the top; the background is a smooth pale gray.
