Pectoral watch, maker: I. Stosch fl. 1st half of 17th century. Baroque, 17th century mechanism dated 1st half of 19th century. Oval case with frame and circular glazed cut-out revealing a dial with a silver ring and hour numerals. Frame engraved with a tendril; underside open-work with a winged bust merging into a tendril and surrounding tendril motif. Openwork sides with tendril ornament, floral and grotesque decoration. Mechanism with striking device, signed I. STOSCH. Timepiece; height 5.3 cm, width 3.5 cm. Place of origin: Wroclaw., A circular metal object with a warm gold color hangs against a pale gray background; the front surface is decorated with ornate openwork showing a symmetrical winged figure surrounded by scrolling foliage and floral motifs, all rendered in the same gold tone with darker recessed areas visible through the cutouts; a small round loop and ring at the top, also gold, attach to the piece, and a tiny decorative finial projects from the bottom, while the surrounding border carries engraved patterns in the same metallic hue.
