Candle screen. On a three-sided plinth, on a tripod decorated with oak branches, with a hexagonal shaft decorated with pointed-arch arcades containing figures of angels in armor with lances and swords. On the shaft is a figure of an eagle with outstretched wings supporting the frame. Rectangular frame with side pillars decorated with two angels with shields featuring the Prussian eagle, an angel with a banner, and a fourth with an oak branch. Topped with pinnacles bearing angels with olive branches. Triangular closure with openwork tracery and topped with a finial. The frame is fitted with secondary frosted glass. Neo-Gothic composition uses figures from the monument to the wars of 1813–1815, designed by Schinkel, built 1818–1821 and erected in Kreuzberg near Berlin; the figures were made by Friedrich Tieck, Ludwig Wilhelm Wichmann, and Christian Daniel Rauch. Variants of New Year's plaques with views or figures from the monument were produced in the 1820s–1823. Likely 1820s, Germany Royal Foundry in Berlin or Gliwice. Height 59.5 cm, width 21.5 cm, depth 14.9 cm. Creator: Szewczykowski, Roman 1849–1901. Function: lighting., A tall ornate standing mirror with a pointed top set in a dark metallic frame, showing a pale reflective surface with some cloudy and speckled areas; the frame has decorative vertical elements and finials at the top in the same dark metallic color. Below the mirror a carved metallic support resembling layered feathered shapes connects to a slender pedestal with embossed decorative panels and architectural motifs in the dark metallic finish. The pedestal broadens into a heavy ornamental base with arched cutouts and carved designs, also dark metallic, sitting on a reflective surface that creates a faint mirrored reflection; the background is a uniform light gray. The visible colors are dark metallic, pale silvery reflective tones, and light gray.
