Statue - Angel, Renaissance, 16th century. Figure of a standing angel with his right hand raised, the other raised to chest height, which originally contained a cross or an element of the Arma Christi. It is a pendant to the latter. Square wooden base with profiles on the upper and lower edges, a secondary one. Sculpture, height 45 cm, width 12 cm, depth 12.5 cm., A dark brown wooden sculpture of a winged figure shown from the back standing on a dark rectangular pedestal, the figure wearing draped garments with carved folds and detailed feathered wings spread outward, the hair textured in curls and one arm raised with a closed hand, the surface showing polished highlights and deep shadows, set against a plain light gray background with reflections visible beneath the pedestal; the visible colors are dark brown, black, light gray, and subtle highlights of warm brown.
