Key case, Rectangular key case with a hinged lid and two clasp hooks. Trimmed with red leather, with gilded embossing; on the lid, a frame along the edge with an ornament in the corners. In the centre, a ducal mitre. On the underside, a gilded frame along the edge, in the centre a non-gilded embossed rhombus with an inscribed quatrefoil, and in the centre a rhombus with a four-petal rosette. Inside, typewritten note describing presentation in 1833 to Grand Duchess Mathilde. 1833, Germany; Darmstadt. Varia. Height 9.8 cm, width 5.9 cm, depth 1.8 cm., A rectangular object with a deep red cover featuring an embossed triangular decorative pattern and a flower-like motif near its top, bordered by a thin gold trim; near the top edge there is a pale rectangular label and a small fabric patch adhered to the red surface, and another small pale square patch beside them; the object shows slight wear at the corners and a small metal clasp on the right edge; the background is a smooth light gray.
