Watch in a double case; outer case with a frame surrounding the dial and a repoussé depiction of the Crucifixion with Mary and St. John on the back, surrounded by a border of eight C-shaped sections and ornamental decoration. Smooth silver inner case; silver dial with Roman numerals for hours separated by gold dots and Arabic minute numerals. The reserve bears the signature of the watchmaker Zeidlmayr. Inside, the movement cover has a cutout revealing a bun. Movement marked: Breslau / Joseph Zeidlmayr. Inside the case: a negative MS mark, a negative mark and a possible illegible goldsmith's mark rosette?, and two numbers—markings likely made by repairing watchmakers. 1st half of the 18th century; Wroclaw Breslau, Silesia; timepiece., A round metal pocket watch with its decorated cover open, showing an ornate circular face with a patinated metallic surface and a range of metallic tones including silver, grey, dull gold, and brass; the watch face features a group of small raised studs in a gold color and elaborately shaped hands in a gold tone mounted on a central hub, all set within concentric rings of engraved and embossed metal details; the open cover has intricate floral and scrollwork engravings in a silver tone and rests angled away from the watch body; the winding crown and bar at the top are silver colored, and the background is a plain light grey.
