Mid-18th century, London, England, Great Britain. Timepiece. Height 6 cm; width 4.5 cm; dial diameter 3.5 cm., A small open circular metal object with an ornate upper interior showing intricate filigree and gear-like components in bright gold tones with small dark accents and a central jewel-like element in deep red, attached by a hinge to a rounded lower bowl-shaped cavity that is also metallic gold with areas of darker tarnish and a small patch of reddish markings on its outer side; the background is a pale neutral gray.
