Art Nouveau sugar bowl by Berndorfer Metallwarenfabrik Arthur Krupp Berndorf; silver and metalworks; fl. 1843-, Art Nouveau style. Plant ornament decoration: circular sugar vessel on a low base with a body tapering toward the top, decorated with stylized leafy branches with circular fruit. Two handles decorated with profiles. Slightly arched lid with a bud-shaped handle. Circa 1900. Austria, Berndorf. Vessel. Height 10.2 cm; width 18.2 cm; depth 11.7 cm., A polished metal lidded container with a rounded body and a low pedestal base, shown against a pale gray background; the container has a domed lid topped with a small, rounded finial and a decorative raised motif on the lid, and a pair of angular handles extending horizontally from each side; the body features engraved floral and berry-like decorative patterns and smooth recessed oval panels, with visible wear marks and slight tarnishing on the reflective silver surface, showing shades of silver, gray, and hints of darker gray in the reflections.
