Double-sided snuffbox, tall, narrowed halfway up; slightly bulging lids, framed by silver, profiled fittings, white-enameled, decorated with colourful scenes from the story of Samson depicted against a landscape painted in grisaille. On the sides: Samson going to the Philistine city of Timna, guided by three women, and Samson fighting a lion. On the lids: Samson carrying the city gate to the top of the mountain opposite Hebron, and Samson taking honey from the lion's mouth.
