Buckle, Repossession; gift. Silver buckle fastening Delya's coat, probably royal, inscription 24 February 1705. Two-part, each element in the form of a bota, with a repoussé border composed of strips of pearls and leaves. Inside, circular medallions with a phoenix holding snakes in its beak. Both elements are connected with a hook, the part with the ring covered with a rectangular shield with ogee spines at top and bottom, bearing a circular medallion with the Polish eagle. Both parts at top and bottom have soldered rings; on the reverse, vertical strips for attaching a belt are soldered on; one of them with a disc on the clasp is engraved in italics with the words Warszawa / 24 11 1705. Not signed, not hallmarked. The buckle may be a Middle Eastern work from the 19th century, later supplemented with a disc with the Polish eagle and an inscription, probably from the third quarter and made in Europe. 3rd quarter of the 19th century; clothing accessory buckle; height 10.5 cm, width 26.5 cm., A symmetrical metal object with a central hinge connecting two crescent-shaped halves, each half showing ornate raised floral and fish-scale patterns and decorative borders; the metal surfaces display tones of gold, silver, and tarnished brown with a few darker spots, and there are flat silver straps crossing each crescent and small looped hooks at the outer edges, all set against a smooth pale gray background.
