Buckle, Two-part silver buckle fastening Delya's coat, probably royal; inscription Warszawa / 24 11 1705 engraved in italics on one vertical strip on the reverse. Each element shaped like a bota with a repoussé border of pearl-strips and leaves; inside, circular medallions with a phoenix holding snakes in its beak. The elements are connected with a hook; the part with the ring is covered with a rectangular shield with ogee spines top and bottom, bearing a circular medallion with the Polish eagle. Both parts have soldered rings at top and bottom; vertical strips for attaching a belt are soldered on the reverse; one has a disc on the clasp. Not signed, not hallmarked. Possibly a Middle Eastern work from the 19th century, later supplemented with a disc with the Polish eagle and the inscription, probably made in Europe in the third quarter of the 19th century. Height 10.5 cm, width 26.5 cm., A decorative metallic object with a pair of symmetrical curved plates joined by an ornate central piece, all in a silver tone; each plate displays raised, intricate floral and foliate patterns and a stylized bird motif in the center with textured feathers and curved wings, surrounded by scrolling vines and leaves; the central joining element is also highly detailed with a small round medallion and surrounding ornamental relief; the background is a smooth light gray.
