Dessert spoon by Durgin Co. Concord; goldsmith's firm; fl. 1853–1924. Dessert spoon with an ovoid scoop topped with a pointed tip, decorated with semi-plastic roses at the bottom, gilded; handle widening towards the end and topped in a semicircle, edged with a profiled band, decorated with roses. Dauphin pattern introduced by the company in 1897. HP Helena Paderewska monogram indicates the spoon was made or acquired no earlier than 1899 the Paderewskis' wedding date. Inscribed/associated names: Paderewski, Ignacy Jan 1860–1941; Paderewska, Helena 1856–1934. Origin: Concord, United States of America. Cutlery. Dimensions: length 15 cm; width 2.8 cm; weight 30 g., A decorative spoon lies horizontally against a solid gray background, with an ornate bowl on the left that has a warm golden hue and intricate raised floral designs, and a long silver-toned handle on the right featuring embossed floral motifs and linear ridges, the spoon showing reflective highlights and shadows that accentuate its metallic textures in gold and silver.
