ALMA TADEMA Lawrence or his daughter Laurence, end of the 19th century, Germany, cutlery, varia; height 18.5 cm, width 4.5 cm, weight 75 g., A long ornate spoon lies horizontally against a flat gray background; the spoon has a shallow, teardrop-shaped bowl with a reflective, slightly tarnished surface showing subtle warm highlights and pale greenish spots, and an intricately worked handle featuring twisted rope-like elements, sculpted floral and foliate motifs, and a carved figure at the terminal. The visible colors are metallic silver with warm golden reflections, pale greenish discoloration inside the bowl, and the neutral gray of the background.
