Souvenir spoon by Reed & Barton goldsmiths, fl. 1840–, Hennegen Bates & Co jewelry firm, fl. 1869–1955; associated with Ignacy Jan Paderewski 1860–1941. Ovoid dipper with engraved inscription NORFOLK - VA - / - JAN. - 1905; on the reverse the monogram HP Helena Paderewska, 1856–1934 in italics. Handle in the form of a floral sprig terminating in an enameled wild rose flower. Design identified as Wilde Rose cutlery model, ca. 1905. Made in Taunton, United States; sold in Baltimore. Cutlery; length 13 cm, width 2.1 cm, weight 20 g., A metal spoon rests on a flat gray surface against a gray background, showing a curved bowl with a slightly tarnished silver finish and a handle that tapers into an ornate end; the handle is silver with decorative raised detailing and finishes in a floral element that is pink with a yellow-green center.
