Souvenir spoon with an oval scoop with a relief representation of harbor fortifications, bay and ships; at the edge of the scoop the inscription EADS JETTIES. NEW ORLEANS; handle with an irregular edge bordered with acanthus leaves; in the finial a portrait of a man with a beard and at the bottom the signature on the sash CAPT. EADS, below the breakwater; late 19th century; Providence, United States of America; cutlery; height 14.8 cm, width 3 cm, weight 30 g., A single metal spoon rests on a smooth, light gray surface against a slightly darker gray background; the spoon has a rounded bowl with a subtle patina showing darker and lighter areas, and a long ornately detailed handle with raised decorative patterns and a slightly darker metallic tone overall, with visible highlights and shadows on the curved shapes.
